Historique :	Cette épitaphe, qui provient de l'ancienne église Saint-Pierre, a été posée par Antoine du Verdier (1544-1600), auteur de 21 ouvrages imprimés, dont le plus célèbre est 'La bibliothèque d'Antoine du Verdier', Lyon, Honorat, 1585.

DV VERDIER ELEV A FAIT POSER LEPITAPHE (dans un cadre mouluré). Armoiries : blason d'Antoine du Verdier, d'azur à trois pals d'argent, celui du milieu moucheté d'hermine, au chef cousu de gueules chargé de trois étoiles d'or (en dessous, sur une banderolle, entre deux consoles).
