Description :	Le marteau est formé d'une forte volute et se termine par une tête d'aspect un peu archaïque, qui évoque le 13e ou le 14e siècle.

Historique :	La tête aurait pu être ajoutée après coup sur une monture du 18e siècle. Néanmoins, il est probable que ce heurtoir soit en entier l'oeuvre d'un artisan local. La proximité de Saint-Etienne où les forgerons produisaient de véritables oeuvres d'art avait en effet doté la région de très habiles ouvriers.
